Baby Coupons for Alcohol??

No I haven’t lost my mind but I understand you are probably wondering why I am posting pictures of Catalina coupons huh?

I just thought it was a funny situation. Last weekend Matt and I made a quick run to Meijer to purchase two products, some Neosporin and an alcoholic beverage. At the check outs we received three Catalina coupons; diapers, baby laundry soap, and Juicy Juice.

The only thing I can think of to explain this is that Meijer thinks alcohol leads to babies.

I'm not shopping today...

but you still can.

L'Oreal Lipstick MONEY MAKER

I wanted to highlight one of the deals I found at Meijer today.

This week they have their L'Oreal make up products on sale buy one get one free. There were coupons for $2 off many L'Oreal products in a recent insert. As you can see above this lipstick was originally priced at $8.64 the clearance sticker says $4.32 but my receipt shows they rang up for $2.16 before the buy one get one sale. If you only have one coupon you'll pay $.16 for TWO lipsticks. If you have more then you're getting paid to take them off the shelf.

Here is how my break down worked
2 L'Oreal lip sticks @ 2.16 (B1G1)

Total: $2.16
Coupon: (2) $2 off any L'Oreal lip product

Profit: $1.84

There were quite a few L'Oreal products marked down, including eye shadows and face powders. Had I know they were 75% off and buy one get one free I probably would have shopped harder. Maybe I'll have to stop back later this week.

CVS & Meijer Savings

It was only a quick trip to CVS this week. They didn't have any Soy Joy bars in stock so I just used the $3 off any 2 CVS products to get some free tissues (we need them right now). I also had a $2 ECB to spend and since I couldn't roll it over I bought two of their new reusable bags. They're so cute. I spent nothing out of pocket but didn't earn anything either.

The trip to Meijer was a different story. They're having another great 10/$10 get the 11th item free sale. I spent $30.90 but saved $54.79

With the little free time I did have this week I was able to score a few good deals. There was the 58% savings at Kroger and the following...

Target - Barbie Rebate
I stopped by Target (even though I said I wouldn't shop there again) because I wanted to finish out the Barbie deal and be done with it. Check my post HERE to see comparable prices on the select merchandise that's available for the $50 mir.


I bought the last Barbie item I needed at Target. In total Barbie merchandise I spent $101.89 (plus tax) and will receive the $50 gift card saving 49%. I ended up with 2 Diamond Dolls, one Glitter flying horse, and the My house play set. Which means I am also now done Christmas shopping for my little sister and Niece!

Target Clearance
While at Target I also found some great clearance items.

Sorry the picture is blurry, but as you can see I purchased two lunch Tupperware containers. I've been looking all over for these but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg. I picked these up for $2.08 a piece. The large yellow containers were 2 for $3.48, I plan to put my salads and such in them for the upcoming Christmas gatherings. I saved 30% and am so happy I finally found the lunch containers.

And lastly while at Target I received 5 plastic Target bags (for FREE :). I plan to use these to send away for the FREE reusable Bag I suppose I'll keep the dog - he is pretty cute.

I also stopped at Meijer to buy the cheap sugar (more frosting) and picked up 6 more FREE Jell-o packets and 3 more Taco Bell Salsas.

I'm also making a quick trip to CVS today. I missed out on the free Sun/Mon deals because we were still working on the bathroom but I think I'll be able to come home with a good trip anyway.

More free food at Meijer

I always get so disappointed when I see the great deals bloggers are getting at stores like Safeway and Shoppers. All we have around here are Meijer and Kroger, which haven’t been all that excellent in sales lately. When I first started couponing it was great, but lately not so much. Anyway, every once and a while we do get a great deal and by great I mean FREE of course.

Right now you can get free Jell-O and Taco Bell Salsa or shells at Meijer.



I walked away with all of this yesterday and made $0.16
You can find these money making coupons on Meijer’s Meal Box program website If you go to the specials tab and then page three you’ll find a $1.50/2 Jell-O and another $1.50 off Taco Bell coupon. The coupons are good until 11/15 so hopefully I'll get back to get some more.

Here’s how it all works out

There has been some discussion on the net if you can use this coupon to purchase just the shells since the box doesn’t say kit on it. I asked at Meijer and was told since the coupon has a picture of the 12 shells box they included that as a kit.

Unlimited Free Johnson’s soap at Meijer

Ok really close to free anyway at nine cents a piece. Currently at my Meijer if you purchase any 3 Johnson products you get a Catalina for $3 off your next 3 Johnson’s Products.

Purchase 3 Johnson’s Buddies soaps for $1.09 a piece and use the $3/3 coupon in the insert a few weeks ago. Then go back and purchase 3 more soaps using the $3 Catalina for another 3 products and $3 Catalina. Just keep rolling it from there.

No idea how long this deal will be going since there isn’t a final date on my Catalina or a tag on the shelf, but I plan to take advantage of it

I foresee a lot of Buddies soap in my donation box very soon.

Meijer Money Maker

You can get FREE Glade PlugIns Scented Oil Starter Kits and get paid to shop at Meijer until 9/28.



Yesterday Matt and I were able to score these five Glade Oil Warmers and Meijer paid us $5.24 to do it. Until 9/28 you get a $2 Catalina for every Glade oil warmer you purchase. I’ve heard this is working at some stores on the gels as well but I have no confirmation of this.

Also this week I was able to buy a new Breeze Cat Liter system for $4.74 that’s an 86% savings.

Matt and I have been talking about switching to this system but I wanted to wait till hey went on sale, and I’m so glad we did.

I’m sure many of you already know about this and have probably done it already, but I had to share my great Kellogg’s deal.

So we had another good trip to Meijer today. I spent $59.43 but we won’t have to worry about dog food for quite some time, I might even go back for more later since I now have more coupons; $.30 a pound is a good deal. I don’t know if I can pass it up. We ended up saving a total of $92.23 that’s a savings of 61% I even amazed Matt as he watched the total drop. To make things even better I plan to send in the Pop Tarts and Keebler cookies for the $10 Kellogg’s rebate. That makes this trip look a little more like this:

I’ve really been trying to unit price shop on certain items, dog/cat food and liter. At first I thought it was too time consuming but since I started my price book it’s been easy to keep track of what everything sells at. Knowing what each pound cost helps me to determine when we should stock up on an item, especially those that will be used and don’t expire (at least for a while). We’ve also been looking at the Breeze system for quite some time now so of course we jumped on it at 25% off and a $10 coupon!
