Quick Wal-Mart Trip

I made a quick trip to Walmart this week to pick up Cat food (used my giveabowl $3.50 off coupon) and decided to use a few other coupons in the process.



2 Glade Soy candles (on rollback) $3

(I think I may have mentioned how much I love these candles once or twice... ok maybe five or six times, but they are amazing)

= $3 total cost after coupons - A great price for these

I also picked up a pack of 5 furnace filters for less than $4 in a clearance aisle. These will come in handy this winter.

Free water at Walmart!

Whenever another blogger post a freebie deal I'm always a little hesitant to spend a ton of time printing off coupons, I've been burned before. I don't know what it is but apparently stores in Michigan don't feel the need to stock or price things at the same levels as elsewhere, too many times I've read about everyone getting a great deal only to find a local store doesn't stock the items.

So today when I saw a few blogs advertising free water at Walmart I was skeptical, since we were going shopping anyway I figured I'd print two coupons and give it a shot. And I'm glad I did.



I found these 6 packs of water in the Wal-mart dollar aisle (not with the other water products) and was able to use my two coupons to score 12 free bottles of water! As we were checking out the couple in front of us had a 12 pack of the same water - I so wanted to stop her and tell her she could have bought two packs for free; but sometimes I think I Matt thinks I'm crazy when I talk coupons with total strangers so I refrained myself.

CVS & Walmart Savings 1/18 - Freebies

I love when you shop and get things for free, it makes me even happier when I get paid to take things home. Today was a good shopping day, even though I wasn't able to find any of the Free Febreze candles. I might stop by tomorrow night and scan a few more at the "not so great" CVS, I really want to try them but not enough that I'm willing to pay $7.99.

At CVS today I had $14.57 to spend and not a lot of great sales to roll over the ECB's with so I decided to just spend them. Free stuff is still free stuff sometimes you have to accept you can't roll over everything.

At Walmart we picked up quite a bit and got paid to do it. =I used the overage to purchase a marked down toy for Christmas next year.

Lots of free items this week

I was worried the weeks after Christmas would be deal less but once again I was wrong. I picked up all of the following items for basically nothing.

On the left my purchases from Menards this week (sale ends 1/18). The candle was marked down to $1.39 I used the $1 off Glade coupon and paid the rest with a gift card. The De-icer, hex set, and 2 outdoor cords were all free after rebate. The two Crayola paint sets were $1.99 after rebate.

The flame less candle in the middle is from Wal-mart. They have them marked down to $4.97 and I was able to use the $5 off coupon and walked out with it for free.

On the right you’ll see the last two trips to CVS. I had $4 in ECB’s expiring and decided to use them on more free soap. In total I purchased six CVS soaps ($8.97), used (2) $3/2 CVS product coupon found at I heart CVS.com. I also bought the shampoo for $2.99 and used a $1 off coupon (earning $2 ecbs). I lost some ECB’s in the transaction but paid nothing out of pocket So all together I purchased $57.62 of merchandise for $4.45 that’s a 92% savings.

Most the items will be 2009 Christmas presents. Not bad for a deal less week.

Big Barbie Savings

Until then I have a GREAT deal to share. While reading the blogs today I saw on The "Cent"sible Sawyer a $50 rebate for a $100 spent in select Barbie merchandise. At first I was a little weary but after checking prices I think this can be a great deal.

If you haven’t picked up your August issue of All You at Wal-Mart, do so now… I mean seriously, like right now… run! There are over $40 in coupons and 8 FREE or B1G1 products. These are by far some of the best coupons I’ve seen in an All You, right now I’m holding out on purchasing another this month, but I have a feeling I won’t make it. I have a TON of coupons expiring at the end of July (as I’m sure most of us do) so I headed over to Wal-mart to see what deals I could find. I was a little disappointed because I couldn’t find any of the free Gillette 2 in 1 body washes, but other than that I think we did quite well. I’m still no where near as good as some, but I’m learning.

School Shopping

When the week started out I thought it was going to be very slow on deals, but I eneded up having a good shopping week. The best finds this week was on school supplies.

Here’s what we got at Staples this week. My amazing husband made three trips during the week while he was out and about for his day.

Total Spent: $2.90 out of pocket. We needed to replenish some of our office supplies and since I spend all day shaking hands with strangers I’ll make quick use of the Purell. The items we won’t use I plan to donate to our church when they do a call for school supplies.

Since the Staples sale ended on Wednesday we spent Thursday at Walmart looking at their school section.

Total Cost: $5.84 I use the glue sticks in my scrap booking and index cards for recipes. Matt will use the notebooks for school. I plan to use the rest of the items to make two birthday gifts we’ll need next month.

Total School shopping: $8.74 For less than $10 we purchased enough to replenish our needed office supplies, put together two birthday gifts and even have a little left over to donate. What more can you ask for?

Wal-Mart Freebies

I’ve been reading about all the other bloggers getting free things at Wal-Mart with coupons and decided I wanted to give it a shot. I went through my coupons and picked out any that were expiring by the end of the week. I made a list of all the coupons and during our trip looked for these items in trial sizes to get them free or very cheap. I didn’t end up with a ton but I think we came home with some good deals… and overage (always a good thing).

This was the most expensive item, but I use these powders anyway so it is still better to get it $1 off before the coupon expired.
