I actually made it to CVS on Sunday but while typing up my quick trip recap firefox closed out on me twice and once 1am hit I decided it was time to give up.

Now that things seem to be working again we'll get to the posting.

CVS 7/26/09

I went to visit my Mom and was able to make a quick stop at her CVS; sadly, so had apparently half her town since they were out of almost everything. I didn’t want to deal with rain checks so I just picked up what I could.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend. I had big plans this weekend and wanted to do a lot of reading and blog updating, unfortunately I ended up doing everything but. It was a productive weekend though; we cleaned up the house a little and put up new trim in our bathroom. I’m hoping my Mom will be able to come over next weekend and help get it all painted.

So, after not being to CVS is weeks I finally made it today. They had some good deals running and I figured it was time to get back in on the action.

The dental floss was from Wal-mart we stopped in to buy dog food and I saw the floss marked down from $1 to $.10! You can't not pick it up at that price, everyone needs floss. I figure I'll keep a few and stick the rest in our donation pile.

I went to CVS after work yesterday and surprisingly was able to pick up pretty much everything I was after.

I wasn't able to get any band-aids. My ad states prices starting at $1 but the cheapest option was over $3 so I left them there.

I made a quick stop today to pick up the gift card and reusable bags for the winner of the CVS giveaway (poster #6), while there I picked up some more Excedrin.

I think other people have caught on and started shopping at the good CVS. Today they were all out of the Embrace razors, I would expect that from my old CVS but this new one has been pretty good. I might make another stop later in the week at a 3rd CVS (close to my work) and see if they have any.

Today I was able to pick up three items for FREE. Well technically I lost $.98 in ECB's but I don't think I'll lose any sleep over it.

I love when you shop and get things for free, it makes me even happier when I get paid to take things home. Today was a good shopping day, even though I wasn't able to find any of the Free Febreze candles. I might stop by tomorrow night and scan a few more at the "not so great" CVS, I really want to try them but not enough that I'm willing to pay $7.99.

At CVS today I had $14.57 to spend and not a lot of great sales to roll over the ECB's with so I decided to just spend them. Free stuff is still free stuff sometimes you have to accept you can't roll over everything.

It was only a quick trip to CVS this week. They didn't have any Soy Joy bars in stock so I just used the $3 off any 2 CVS products to get some free tissues (we need them right now). I also had a $2 ECB to spend and since I couldn't roll it over I bought two of their new reusable bags. They're so cute. I spent nothing out of pocket but didn't earn anything either.

The trip to Meijer was a different story. They're having another great 10/$10 get the 11th item free sale. I spent $30.90 but saved $54.79

Lots of free items this week

I was worried the weeks after Christmas would be deal less but once again I was wrong. I picked up all of the following items for basically nothing.

On the left my purchases from Menards this week (sale ends 1/18). The candle was marked down to $1.39 I used the $1 off Glade coupon and paid the rest with a gift card. The De-icer, hex set, and 2 outdoor cords were all free after rebate. The two Crayola paint sets were $1.99 after rebate.

The flame less candle in the middle is from Wal-mart. They have them marked down to $4.97 and I was able to use the $5 off coupon and walked out with it for free.

On the right you’ll see the last two trips to CVS. I had $4 in ECB’s expiring and decided to use them on more free soap. In total I purchased six CVS soaps ($8.97), used (2) $3/2 CVS product coupon found at I heart CVS.com. I also bought the shampoo for $2.99 and used a $1 off coupon (earning $2 ecbs). I lost some ECB’s in the transaction but paid nothing out of pocket So all together I purchased $57.62 of merchandise for $4.45 that’s a 92% savings.

Most the items will be 2009 Christmas presents. Not bad for a deal less week.

Once again we got to CVS too late and they were out of pretty much everything I wanted.

I was able to roll over a few ecbs, but not as many as I would have liked.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE the new CVS I've been going to? I have, well let me just say it one more time. I LOVE this CVS. I got a late start to shopping today and figured they'd be out of a few products I needed. Much to my surprise not only were the sales labeled but they had everything I needed except the Cover Girl make up. Shopping was a breeze.

I didn't want to spend a ton out of pocket so I didn't get everything we could have, but I'm still very happy with it.
