You read that title correctly, I am 99% done with my 2009 Christmas shopping. I have two people to make semi medium sized purchases for but those will wait until November. Other than that everyone I plan to purchase things for has had the items purchased. I picked up the last of the kids gifts at Target during their crazy clearance a few days ago. (shown above)
Everyone else on our list will be receiving homemade gifts since they will be mostly gift free Christmas gatherings. I loved having no gift Christmas gatherings in 2008. At first I wasn't sure how it would work out but I found it to be so much less stressful. Plus not worrying about gifts allowed us time to really focus on the season and being together.
Since I have advanced warning this year I plan to make a few homemade gifts for everyone that we won't be doing full exchanges with and of course there will be a few stocking stuffer items give out from my CVS stash.
It feels so great to be done with Christmas in January, one less thing to worry about throughout the year.
